Avana is licensed to launch retail cannabis locations in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, the only two provinces offering private online distribution. Combined, their market size is estimated at over $450m. As part of this vertical integration, Avana is proudly launching Garden Variety in Manitoba. This retail outlet is an exciting partnership with Fisher River Cree Nation of Manitoba, Chippewas of the Thames of Ontario, MediPharm Labs Inc. of Ontario, and Colorado-based Native Roots Dispensary. Notably, Native Roots brings their valuable expertise from establishing a proven and successful distribution model in the U.S.

Zubin Jasavala, CPA, CA

Chief Executive Officer, SPIC

Zubin is a passionate, entrepreneurial leader with more than 10 years of experience in finance and business management. His expertise in business development, fundraising and investor relations allowed him to effectively manage a team of 20 employees at Fengate Real Asset Investments while overseeing more than 10 infrastructure funds with over $1.3B under management. Zubin’s unwavering passion for the cannabis industry has allowed him to build a diversified, successful team creating a strong foundation for Avana’s growth.

Dr. Soyoung Lee

Chief Science Officer, QAP, RPIC

Dr. Lee is a sought after advisor for licensed producers with expertise in ACMPR regulations, SOPs, pharmaceutical research and development, pharmaceutical formulation and quality assurance. Soyoung has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Toronto and post-doctoral studies at The Hospital for Sick Children.

    Mr. McFadden is bringing his extensive knowledge in the energy, infrastructure and technology sectors to assist with the development and execution of Avana's evolving business strategy. Currently counsel at Gowling WLG, his extensive career commitments include his roles on the Board of Governors of York University and the Advisory Board of the MaRS Energy Centre and notable posts with Ontario Centres of Excellence, Chair of the Board of Directors of 407 International Inc, Toronto Hydro, Toronto Board of Trade and Ontario Legislature.
  • DR. MOHYUDDIN MIRZA

    Professional Agrologist, PhD in Agriculture

    Dr. Mirza is a Professional Agrologist (P.Ag) and a PhD in Agriculture from the University of Alberta and he possesses unrivaled experience studying cannabis in a research environment. His passion and know-how will help Avana create artisanal quality cannabis products to scale. With over 31 years of experience in greenhouse technology, plant disease identification and cannabis-specific production research, Dr. Mirza has worked in a research capacity with cannabis since 1995 and has extensive cannabis production knowledge.

    BSc., PhD, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto

    Dr. Macgregor is the Director of the Graduate Deportment of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Specialist program and he is committed to researching advanced cannabis intake methods for Avana. His lauded and specialized expertise plays a vital role in understanding the physical basis for biological regulation, the origin of disease and the development of new drug therapies.

    Creative Brand Strategist

    As a former Creative Director with FutureBrand, Mr. Enns' work has been awarded by the New York Beverage Awards and the London International Advertising Awards. He has received worldwide attention for the re-branding of the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and Canadian Football League (CFL). With his established passion for design and the cannabis industry, Mr. Enns is skillfully bringing Avana's vision to life across all touch points.

    President, CannaWay Clinic

    Dr. Bhesania is a practicing cardiologist who is lending his hands-on expertise regarding patient studies, physician relationships and specialty medical clinics to Avana. With extensive relationships across Toronto's medical community, his career includes posts as the former Chief of Medicine and Division Head - Cardiology at the Humber River Hospital where he is currently the president of the Cardiac Care Centre.
  • DR. STEPHEN GLAZER

    Internist, Cannaway Clinic

    Dr. Glazer is active at an affiliate medical cannabis clinic and provides hands-on core and feedback regarding best practices in patient care and prescribing medical cannabis. Board certified in internal, critical core and obesity medicines, he is an Internist, a specialist in sleep disorders and a member of the Ontario Bariatric Network. He also serves as Vice President of the Canadian Association of Bariatric Physicians and Surgeons.
  • DR. MICHAEL DOR, M.D, M.P.A.

    Ministry Of Health, Israel

    Dr. Dor is expertly supporting Avana's cultivation of medical cannabis. Notably, he was the Senior Medical Advisor for the Medical Cannabis Unit and established the first Academic cannabis courses at Tel Aviv University. Based in Jerusalem, he continues teaching Health Management while operating his family medical practice. He is also a graduate of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government with a Masters in Public Administration.
